Kim Kardashian Quickie Marriage Mocked on CMAs

http://nowdailynews.blogspot.com - Modern Family's Eric Stonestreet joined Country Music Awards hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood to poke fun at Kim Kardashian's quickie marriage during the show's opening monologue Wednesday night.

Paisley and Underwood's intro also targeted a number of stars, notably Taylor Swift and Hank Williams Jr., whose song "All My Rowdy Friends" was yanked from Monday Night Football in early Oct. after the singer compared President Barack Obama to Hitler. Williams appeared on stage with the duo after his good-natured skewering.

Kardashian's 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries was saved for the last part of the opening monologue. Stonestreet joined Paisley and Underwood, stating, "I think you forgot to sing a song about what's weighing on everyone's mind in this room."

Underwood, "Our global economy?"

Paisley, "A nuclear Iran?"

Stonestreet, "No. The divorce of Kim Kardashian and what's-his-name."

The trio then launched into their Kardashian version of Randy Travis' "Forever and Ever, Amen." Lyrics included: "I'm going to love you forever/Or 72 days, amen/As long as Justin Bieber is not a conceiver/As long as Taylor Swift is with her current boyfriend."

Paisley: "I mean what's wrong with Hollywood today? They can't commit. Look at Blake [Shelton] and Miranda [Lambert]. 179 days. That's like two forevers."

Underwood: "And look at me and Mike [Fisher]. We have been together for 487 days. That's almost seven forevers."

Paisley: "And Kim [Williams] and I have been together for just over 31,000 days."

All: I'm going to love you for $20 million. For a hit TV series. Or pics in US Weekly... for 72 days...Amen."

Oscar producers take note: Paisley and Underwood's opening was entertaining, funny and timely.
