'Kourtney and Kim take New York' has Kris Humphries’ camp crying foul Kim Kardsahian

http://nowdailynews.blogspot.com - Reality television has its newest villain and those close to Kris Humphries aren’t happy he’s been cast in the role.

A source close to the NBA player tells us the predictably negative portrayal of Humphries during Sunday’s season premiere of “Kourtney and Kim Take New York” is grating on him and his family.

Worse yet, the baby-faced ballplayer’s confidants expect the wave of anti-Humphries sentiment to swell as the season unfolds.

“A lot of things on reality TV are manipulated easily, but with this show, there were a lot of scenes and situations that are going to paint him in a negative light,” says the source.

The E! reality show, which had its season debut Sunday, did not waste much time casting Humphries as the bad guy in the failed marriage.

The show is expected to document the couple’s march toward a split after just 72 days of marriage.

The first episode, titled “The Honeymoon Is Over,” lavished special attention on a comment Humphries made about Kardashian's accentuated hourglass figure.

During the scene, Humphries picked up his reality-star wife and told she “ate a lot of wedding cake.”

It’s been reported that similarly disparaging remarks were among the reasons Kardashian filed for divorce. But sources close to Humphries say they fear that, what to their ears sounds like typical ribbing between two newlyweds, will be blown out of proportion in the editing room.

“Clearly, he never meant it, but he’s on camera. They overdramatize for effect on this show,” adds our source.

With no control over how his words and deeds will be edited, our source says Humphries’ portrayal is a “big concern” to the basketball player and his family.

While the blame for the doomed union is expected to be placed exclusively on Humphries’ broad shoulders, another source close to the basketball player says it’s Kardashian’s fault.

The source explains that Kim and Kris spent the NYC leg of their honeymoon holed up in the hotel room next door to quarreling couple Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick and their infant son.

“Clearly, she chose her sister and the show over her marriage and her husband,” says the second source.

Humphries’ unflattering portrayal on Sunday’s episode hasn’t stopped him from talking to his estranged wife, however.

According to a third source close to the NBA player’s family, Humphries still “speaks cordially” to Kim and is “genuinely in love with her.”

The same can’t be said for Humphries’ kin.

“None of the family members talk to Kim,” says that insider, who adds that Humphries has been avoiding the spotlight in his native Minnesota .

A rep for E! responds: “This information is completely false.”
